Homemade Besan Ki Sabzi Recipe

Homemade Besan Ki Sabzi Recipe

Servings: 5-6 pax

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time : 20 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup besan/ gramflour

  • 1 big onion finely chopped

  • 2 medium tomatoes finely chopped

  • 1 no chopped green chilli

  • 1 tsp chopped ginger

  • 1/2 tsp chopped garlic

  • 1 tsp jeera /cumin seeds

  • 1.5 tsp turmeric powder

  • 2 tsp red chilli powder

  • 1/2 tbsp coriander powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1/2 tbsp kasuri methi/dried fenugreek leaves

  • salt as per taste

  • some chopped coriander leaves

Method:

  1. In a bowl add the besan, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 1 cup water. Whisk well so that there are no lumps.Keep aside for future use.

  2. In a kadai heat 2 tbsp oil add the jeera when it splutters saute the garlic and ginger. Then add the chopped onions and cook on low flame stirring at intervals till golden brown in colour. Add the chopped tomatoes , green chilli and cook on low flame till oil is seen on the sides of the vessel. To it add all the dry spices, salt and kasuri methi. Mix well and again cook for 1-2 minutes. Add 1.5 cups water and then slowly pour the besan batter all over the gravy. Do not stir or mix the sabzi for one minute. Then mix the sabzi slowly . Cover and cook on low flame for 4-5 minutes.

  3. Remove in a serving dish and garnish with some chopped coriander leaves.

Enjoy this yummy sabzi with chapati or parathas.
