Homemade Green Lentil Salad Recipe

Homemade Green Lentil Salad Recipe

Course : Appetizer

Cuisine: Indian

Servings: 4-5 pax

Soaking Time : 30 minutes

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time : 5 minutes

Making Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup green lentil

  • 1 no chopped medium onion

  • 1 no chopped medium tomato

  • 1 no chopped medium cucumber

  • 3-4 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

  • 2 tbsp chopped pudina/mint leaves

  • 1 no lemon juice

  • 1 tbsp chilli flakes

  • 1 tsp pepper powder

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • salt as per taste

Method:

  1. Clean ,wash and soak the lentil in 2 cups water for 30 minutes.

  2. In a vessel boil 3 cups water with 1 tsp salt then add the lentil in it . Boil on low flame for 5 minutes or till the lentil is cooked, do not over cook it. Strain the water and keep aside. Do not throw the water use it in dals or curries.

  3. In a bowl add the cooked lentils, chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, coriander leaves and pudina leaves.

  4. To make the dressing take a small glass bowl add the lemon juice, salt, pepper, chilli flakes and oil. Mix it well.

  5. Add the dressing to the lentils and give it a good toss.

    Enjoy this healthy and yummy salad as a complete meal by itself.
