Homemade Instant Benne Dosa Recipe

Ingredients For Batter:
1 cup rice atta/flour
1/2 cup besan / gram flour
1/4 cup curds/yogurt
1 no raw potato
3-4 nos whole red chillies
1/4 tsp soda bi carb
salt as per taste
1/4 cup butter
Ingredients for Aloo Masala:
5 nos small boiled potatoes
2 nos onions sliced finely
1/2 tbsp chopped ginger
2 nos green chillies chopped into big pieces
1-2 string curry leaves chopped finely
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
salt as per taste
Method:
Peel, wash and chop the potato into big cubes. Keep aside.
In a grinder jar add the rice flour, besan, chopped potato, curds and whole red chillies. Grind into a fine paste.
Remove in a bowl then add the salt and mix well. Cover and keep aside for for 20 minutes.
To prepare the aloo masala first boil, peel and mash the aloo.
In a pan heat 2 tbsp oil, to it add the mustard seeds when it splutters put the curry leaves, turmeric powder, ginger, green chillies and sliced onions . Cook till the onions are pinkish in colour . Then add the mashed potatoes, chilli powder and salt. Give it a good mix.
Remove and keep the aloo masala in a serving bowl for future use.
In the dosa batter add the soda bi carb and mix well to form a smooth flowing consistency batter.
Heat a non stick tawa on medium flame then pour 1-2 ladle of the batter on it and spread in circular motion to form a thick dosa. Spread some butter all over the dosa and cook on medium flame till golden brown from below..
Remove in a plate and repeat the process till all the dosa batter is used up.
Serve these yummy benne dosa with aloo masala and chutney.
