Homemade White Bean Curry Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup white bean
2 nos onions chopped
4 nos small tomatoes chopped
1 no green chilli chopped finely
2 tsp ginger chopped finely
1 tsp jeera/cumin seed
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala
2 tsp chilli powder
salt as per taste
some chopped coriander leaves
Method:
Clean, wash and then soak the white beans in some water for 5-6 hours or overnight.
After the soaking time ,remove the water from the beans and keep aside for future use.
In a pressure cooker heat 2 tbsp oil then add the jeera when it splutters add the ginger saute for a second then add the turmeric and chopped onions. Cook the onions till pinkish in colour. Then add the chopped tomatoes and green chillies and cook till mushy and oil is seen on the sides.
To the onion- tomato paste add all the dry spices and salt and cook for another 5 minutes. Then add all the white beans and 4 cups water.
Close the pressure cooker lid and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes or till the beans are cooked.
Once the pressure is released open the cooker and pour the beans curry in a serving bowl. A little hot water can be added if the curry is too thick. Garnish with some chopped coriander leaves .
Enjoy this yummy beans curry with steam rice or chapati or paratha.
