Homemade Karela Peel Thecha Recipe

Ingredients:
500 gms karela/ bitter gourd peel
1/4 cup peanuts without skin
1/4 cup coriander leaves
4 nos garlic pods
3 nos spicy green chillies
1/2 tsp jeera/ cumin seeds
salt as per taste
Method:
Peel the karela then add salt to the peel and keep aside for at least half an hour.
In a sieve wash the peel under running water and allow all the water to come out . Squeeze out the remaining water and keep aside.
Peel, wash and chop the garlic into half.
Clean, wash the green chillies and coriander leaves.
In a pan heat 1 tbsp oil then fry the peanuts till slightly brown in colour then add the garlic, green chillies, jeera, salt and coriander leaves and cook for half a second.
Remove in a plate and allow it to cool.
In a mortar add the mixture and with a pestle grind it into a coarse paste. Alternatively it can be grinded in a mixie on pulse mode only.
Remove in a serving bowl and enjoy this spicy thecha with your meals.
