Homemade Pan Modak Recipe

Ingredients For Covering :
50 gms homemade mawa
2 tbsp condensed milk
¼ tsp green colour
Ingredients For Stuffing/Filling
2 tbsp gulkand
½ tbsp ground coarsely sauf/fennel seeds
½ tbsp roughly ground kaju/cashewnuts
½ tbsp roughly ground almonds
1 tsp cardamom powder
Method:
In a non stick pan place the mawa, condensed milk and cook on low flame for one minute stirring continuously. Switch off the flame then add the food color and mix well. Remove in a plate and allow it to cool . The dough should be smooth and soft.
In a small bowl add all the ingredients of the stuffing and mix well. It should be a dry mixture. In case it is moist add some more nuts.
Grease a modak mould with some ghee then fill in some mawa dough and make a cavity in the center then place some gulkand stuffing in it. Cover the opening with some dough. Slowly open the mould and remove the modak from it. Place it in a serving dish.
Repeat the process till all the dough and stuffing is used up.
Garnish these delicious modak with some dessicated coconut.
