Homemade Sabudana Thalipeeth Recipe

Course : Main/ Breakfast / Snack

Cuisine: Indian

Servings: 5 nos

Soaking Time : 4-5 hours

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time : 20 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sabudana/sago

  • 2 nos boiled potatoes

  • 2 nos chopped green chilles

  • some chopped curry leaves

  • 1 tsp pepper powder

  • 1/4 cup jowar or ragi atta (optional)

  • some chopped coriander leaves

  • 1/2 juice of lemon

  • salt as per taste

Method:

  1. Wash the sabudana in a sieve till all the powder from it comes out.

  2. In a plate soak the sabudana in 1/2 cup water for 3-4 hours or till all the water is soaked and the sabudana pearls are separate.

  3. Boil and peel the potatoes.

  4. After the soaking time mix all the above ingredients in the sabudana and give it a good mix. Then mash the potatoes and add it to the sabudana and make a soft dough.

  5. Make big balls of the sabudana dough.

  6. Grease a parchment paper and place one ball on it and lightly press it with another parchment/butter paper to form a half inch thick disc. With your palms make even the edges of the disc and then make a small hole with your finger in the center.

  7. Heat a non stick tawa and place the sabudana disc on it. Put a little oil in the hole and cook on low flame. Then flip and cook on the other side too by putting a little oil in the center. Once brown on both sides remove on to a plate.

  8. Repeat the process till all the dough is used up.

Enjoy these yummy sabudana thalipeeth as an evening snack or during your fast or vrat.
