Homemade Jowar Methi Muthia Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup jowar/ sorghum flour
2 tbsp besan /gram flour
¼ cup curds/yogurt
1/3 cup methi leaves
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves ( for garnishing)
3-4 nos chopped green chillies
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp jeera/cumin powder
½ tbsp chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
¼ tsp baking soda
1 tbsp oil
salt as per taste
oil for shallow frying
For Tadka:
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 tsp white til/seasame seeds
Method:
Clean , wash , dry pat and chop the methi leaves finely.
In a bowl add the jowar atta, chopped methi leaves, chopped green chillies , salt, chilli powder, jeera powder, coriander powder , oil , baking soda and lemon juice. Give it a good mix then add the curds and water as required to make a soft dough. Keep aside.
In a steamer boil some water. Grease a plate with some oil.
Pinch some dough and make oblong thick logs and place them on the greased plate.
Keep the plate in the steamer and steam them on high flame for 20 minutes or till the muthia are cooked.
Remove them from the flame and allow them to cool.
Once cooled cut them into medium thickness round shape.
In a non stick pan heat 2-3 tbsp oil then add the mustard seeds when it splutters add the til seeds. Place the cut muthia in batches one by one on the pan and fry them on low to medium flame flipping till they are brown and crispy.
Remove them onto a plate sprinkle some chaat masala and chopped coriander leaves.
