Homemade Barnyard Powa Recipe

Ingredients:
1 cup barnyard
1 /4 cup peanuts
1 no big onion chopped finely
1 no big boiled potato chopped into small cubes
1-2 nos green chillies chopped finely
1-2 string curry leaves chopped finely
1.5 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp chilli powder
1 no lemon juice
some chopped coriander leaves
salt as per taste
Method:
Clean, wash and then soak the barnyard millet in 2 cups water for half an hour. After the soaking time drain the water in a vessel and then boil it. Add the barnyard in the water. Cover and cook on low flame till it is soft and the water dries completely. Mix lightly with a fork and keep it aside for future use.
In a pan heat 4 tbsp oil then add the peanuts and fry it till light brown in colour. Remove and keep it on a plate .To the same oil add the mustard seeds when it splutters add the curry leaves and onion. Cook till the onions are pinkish in colour. Then add the turmeric, chopped boiled potatoes and green chilles. Cook for 1-2 minutes then add the cooked barnyard , chilli powder and salt. Mix well and then cover and cook for another 2 minutes.
Remove from flame and serve with some lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves
